Iranian ‘Parizad’ to go on screen at Mammoth Lakes filmfest

The Mammoth Lakes filmfest in the US is to host Iranian doc ‘Parizad’.

The Mammoth Lakes Film Festival (MLFF) in the US has been scheduled to host Iranian short documentary ‘Parizad’.

Directed and produced by Mehdi Imani-Shahmiri, the short film will hit the screen on September 26 at the Documentary Shorts 2 section of the 7th edition of the US event.

‘Parizad’ has a narrative look towards one of the handicrafts of the women in Chashm Village of Semnan Province.

Golich is a type of Kilim-a type hand-woven floor covering- that is only made in Chashm. The mothers and grandmothers of the village tell some beautiful tales and stories about the art.

The five-day MLFF is an international film festival that takes place annually as a unique elimination-style tournament.

In 2009, the Mammoth Film Festival was named by Moviemaker Magazine as one of the 25 most worthwhile festivals in North America. Moviemaker also described it as “American Idol for moviemakers ... rapidly growing in recognition and praise.”

This year’s MLFF will be held on September 22-26 in Mammoth Lakes, California.
